Watch them in the water and the otters appear to be encased in a silver sheen. This is in fact a film of air bubbles that clings to the longer outer hairs covering their bodies.
Twilight Safari
Twilight Safari is a great way for your students to learn about animals and the environment whilst exploring the Zoo after the sun goes down. Listen out for lions roaring and see giraffe illuminated against the city skyline.
Your students will:
- Enjoy a great BBQ dinner and supper under the stars.
- Discover wild creatures on an evening Zoo walk.
- Get close to amazing mammals and a whole lot of other Zoo residents with a lesson in the Education Centre.
Twilight Safari is available on Monday to Thursday nights during the school term. We book a minimum of 20 students and a maximum of 60 for each program.
Cost
The cost is $32.00 per student with BBQ or $27 without BBQ.
Supervising teachers and parents are free at a ratio of 1 per 10 students. Extra adults pay $32.00 each with BBQ or $27 each without. Extra adult numbers must be negotiated with Zoo Education prior to arrival. All prices include GST ($1.50 per student).
Wear
Closed in walking shoes and wet weather gear if weather is inclement.
